Treleigh Beach - Hayle Towans - Three Miles of golden sands Previous

Picture of Hayle Towans BeachThe Cottages are found on the cliff top at Hayle Towans in Cornwall.

Access to the beach is via a path less than 200 yards from the cottages.

The sands stretch for three miles. Heading in an easterly direction there are cliff tops followed by rolling sand dunes where the remains of a gunpowder factory can be found. At the far eastern end on National Trust Property is Godrevy Point with its Lighthouse.

Heading south, it is possible to follow the river around the headland to the harbour in Hayle where local fishing boats can be found. The tide goes out at least 100 yards across the golden sands exposing shallow pools which rapidly warm up in the sun and make excellent play areas for the children.
